Across a career spanning 20 years, David Jones has established himself as a fixture of the American professional banjo community. Beginning with his work as a founding member of the band Frontier Ruckus, David became a highly lauded figure in the 2010s banjo boom—spreading his unique musicality and deep respect for the instrument’s history from the stages of Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza to extensive tours of the United States and Europe.

David has melded influences as diverse as Scott Joplin and Bach with the bluegrass tradition to achieve his singular approach, which he has imparted upon hundreds of students since 2012. In doing so, David has become not just a top-tier artist in his own right, but the preeminent teacher of banjo in the state of Michigan.
